If you died tonight and God asked you why He should let you into His heaven, what would you say? If you're not sure, the following verses from God's Word will show you how to trust Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. Do it today!
All Have Sinned
Romans 3:23 - All have sinned and come short of the glory of God
Romans 3:10 - As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.
We are not right with God apart from faith in Jesus. Without Jesus we live self serving lives in bondage to our own desires.
Wages of Sin
Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death...
Ezekiel 18:4 - The soul that sinneth, it shall die.
God demands one hundred percent perfection. God does not allow rebellion, pride, or lust in His presence. His holiness demands that all sin be punished.
God Loves You
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The good news is that God made a way so messed up people can be right with Him. The answer to the problem of our messed up lives is faith in Jesus Christ.
Christ Paid It All
I Corinthians 15:3-4 - How that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He was raised again the third day...
God treated Jesus like He was sinful on the cross so He could treat those who trust in Jesus like they never messed up! The cross and empty tomb provides all we need to be right with our Creator.
How to be Saved
Acts 16:31 - And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou salt be saved, and thy house.
Acts 20:21 - Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
Turn to Jesus Christ right now. Receive Him as your Boss, Controller, and Rescuer. Being right with God is not about being perfect. Instead, it is about being forgiven. Admit your need to Jesus and allow Him to take away your rebellion against God and pride in your own goodness. When you do this, Jesus comes into your life and changes you from the inside out. Don't look for a feeling. Feelings don't forgive you. Only faith in Jesus brings freedom from the bondage of a selfish life.
After Salvation
Welcome to the Family of God! Now that you have done this, go tell someone who will celebrate with you. If you do not have a Bible, let us know and we will send you one.
Look up the verses below and begin growing in the Lord:
1. Confession of Faith - Matthew 10:32-33;
2. Baptism - Acts 2:41;
3. Prayer, Bible Study, and Witnessing - I Thessalonians 5:17, I Peter 2:2, Matthew 28:19-20.
"Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you; unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ DIED for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was BURIED, and that He was RAISED on the third day according to the Scriptures" (I Corinthians 15:1-4).
